There were firework displays in Haji lake yesterday. Many people went to see the fireworks including my family. I went there with my husband and grandchildren. We left our house at 2:30pm and we arrived there at 3pm. The fireworks started at 7.30pm. There were many booths and entertainment areas. It was so hot and humid in the afternoon but we heard some thunders rolling in the distance at night. It rained heavily before the actual fireworks display has started. We used the three umbrellas we brought with us as we waited for the show to start. But the rain was so heavy that we looked like drowned rats. A lot of people back out at that time but it was announced that the fireworks would begin soon. The fireworks maybe so beautiful but we had a terrible time.
Vocabulary drowned rats...濡れ鼠（イディオム） back out- To withdraw from something before completion.
Today is the Anniversary of the Hiroshima Atomic Bombing. Every year it is always hot on this day. I watched the Ceremony of Peace on TV. Both of my parents are victims of the atomic bombing but I never went to the ceremony. We all prayed at the exact time when the atomic bomb dropped in Hiroshima. I remembered when I and my father prayed together silently. My father fortunately had escaped from the near death and asked himself how he should live from that time on. My father thought that many people died with no reason so he realized to continue living from that time on. I knew it since my father died. I respect my father.
