I went to the community center this afternoon today. Photography club members gathered in the hall around 3 pm. I didn't see everybody. I am absent in the regular club meeting every month recently. But I met members so I’m happy. Everybody met me sweetly. We made arrangements for the photography club's exhibition this afternoon. There were so many photographs. Our members are like professional cameramen. I spent a good time for a long time.
It has been snowing on and off since this morning. In the afternoon the sun came through the clouds. I walked to the river alone. It takes about 40or 50 minutes on foot. I had a tripod, a camera, and knapsack so it was very heavy. I went across a mountain path. The mountain path is under construction. When I rested at the dry riverbed, I saw two men. They waved their hand at me. They are my friends in bird-watching. “Hi Apsy! What a coincidence!” We exchanged useful piece of information about birds. I left both of them and walked towards the riverside. There are snow remaining here and there. I was exhausted from walking half day. But I had fun.
I am in the coterie of poetry. The coterie's poems are published every year. When I was reading a newspaper before, I found a nice poem. I was moved that's why I called the writer. We talked about poems. He's in the same age with my mother. I then received his letter and poems unexpectedly. I like poems too so I send my poem. He was surprised with my poems and send them to a novelist. They recommend my poems that's why I joined the coterie.
He is getting old. He doesn't have a child. He went out from the nursing home last year. I’m worried about him because he is already very old. I received his New Year card Today. He is still alive so I cried for joy. I’ll go to his nursing home this month.
It's my first time to go to the river for this year. Kingfisher appeared immediately. I got excited and immediately took a picture of kingfisher's hovering. It was so beautiful, so admirable that I can't stop from taking picture of her. When I walked toward downstream I saw a young couple. They look like junior high school students. The couple went under the bridge and sat there. The girl lighted a cigarette. I am hesitant whether to tell them or not to stop from smoking. I had the same experience with the high school students and I told them to stop from smoking. My daughter suddenly told me that it is dangerous to give advice to them so better ignore them. But I warned the junior high school student. I told her that she is still young and pretty. Cigarette is very dangerous to her health. Don't waste your life! Take care of yourself. The girl looked surprise. And she nodded as a reply to my advice. She told me that she will try to quit smoking. She asked me what was I doing there. I told her that I was taking a picture of a kingfisher. I told her about the kingfisher's life. She was amazed because I was familiar with kingfishers. We laughed together. It was already late when I was walking along the river and saw her again with her friends. She shouted to me and said "Thank you! See you again!".
I watched the stock market as usual. Stock prices fell a little bit today. I have many branded stocks so my stocks are interlocked with the Nikkei stock average.
I suddenly remembered my friend Mr. Y. It was a long time since I last saw him. So, I called him. He has many stocks too and he knew the economy well. He was devoted husband and talked about his wife usually. Mr. Y’s wife said he had cerebral infarction last year. And now his hearing is going. He is already 83 years old. Time flies. More than 10 years ago I learned English at English conversation school. I met him there. I heard he doesn't do anything now. “Come to my house please” his wife said. I want to cheer him up. Maybe my coming to their house will not change anything but I will still go to Mr. and Mrs. Y's house in the near future.
